The London 2015 Europhilex was a great celebration of philately and philatelists. Altough we now communicate using emails and texting, the hobby and the passion has not faded away.
History can be told with stamps and exhibitors, both dealers and collectors from all over the world, gathered at Europhilex 2015 to do it.
Even before opening hour, visitors lined up at the entrance.
Some 300,000 stamps in total, worth around £50 million, were displayed, including, not only the Penny Black, but also Europe’s most expensive stamp, the 1857 Swedish three skilling banco yellow, valued at £2.5 million.
Walking round this great exhibition I was able to see the excitement stamped in the faces of all visitors.
The London 2015 Europhilex was held at the Business Design Centre in the borough of Islington and had over 100 international dealers and international postal authorities, special display of world rarities, several seminars and society meetings.
