Göran Strand, professional photographer, was born in Östersund, Sweden and for long as he can remember he's been interested in astronomy.
He started taking photos in the middle of 1990's and a few years later started with astrophotography.
Now, 5 of his Northern Lights photos will be issued as international stamps by the Swedish Postal Service (PostNord).
How did you become a photographer?
For as long as I can remember I've been interested in astronomy. I started taking landscape photo in the middle of 1990's. A few years later I started with astrophotography.
I started my company back in 2003 and at first I worked part time as a photographer. Now I've been working full time as a photographer for 4 years.
How did your Northern Light pictures became stamps?
The Swedish postal service (PostNord) contacted me in December 2014 and asked if I was interested in having my northern lights photos published as stamps. The selection process and the design has been going on during 2015 and now the stamps are ready for publication on November 10, 2016.
What are your plans for the future?
At the moment I'm working on my next book that is due for release by the end of 2016.
